Tier 2 Support Engineer

You will be required to provide consultancy services and advanced technical support on a range of Microsoft platforms, hardware and network systems in the medium sized business market. You will also be required to have experience in the design and roll out of single and multi branch platforms for small and medium companies. As part of your duties, you will be required to manage the customer relationship and execute technical assignments with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years experience working in a customer facing role of which at least 1 year was spent in a senior role with full responsibilities for server and network design, installation, support and disaster recovery.
Proven ability to consult on technical solutions intended to relate IT to business requirements for medium size companies (100+ user environments).
Grade 12 with Math and Science as required subjects.
MCITP Enterprise Administrator or MCSE 2003.
ITIL or MOF qualifications would be a distinct advantage.
A qualification in project management would be desirable.
Previous technology exposure:
All Microsoft Desktop suits.
Virtualisation in particular Hyper V.
Exchange 2007 (design, implementation and support).
Windows 2008 (design, implementation and support).
SAN (design, implement and support).
ISA firewall (design, implementation and support).
Experience on Sonic Wall would be a distinct advantage.
Duties:
Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd level technical support for all incidents and problems escalated through the service desk or managed services divisions.
Scope, plan and deploy new system installations for medium sized companies.
Provide diagnosis, identification and resolution of network related incidents on customer sites.
Carry out advanced diagnostic support on Microsoft Platforms.
