full time Clearing & Forwarding Business Development Manager

at TrudyQ Consulting in Cape Town

Do you enjoy client retention within a deadline and pressurised service driven environment? Are you able to form and solidify profitable and long term client relationships?

Our client in the Freight Forwarding industry is looking to compliment their sales team at their Cape Town operations with a Business Development Manager that will manage a client portfolio through retention strategies as well as grow the client portfolio through identification of further new business opportunities.


Minimum requirements -

Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Computer literate on all MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Fluent in English and at least one other Official South African Language
In possession of previous proven sales/retention accomplishments and completed sales courses
Sound knowledge of the Freight Industry as well as related studies completed in Freight Forwarding/Supply Chain Management will be highly advantageous
Must have a minimum of 3 years Freight Forwarding Sales experience
Valid endorsed code 08 drivers license
Own reliable vehicle reflecting a professional image

Job Specific Requirements -

Deliver high level of selling and public relations skills
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
Present, resolve and sell on strategic, tactical and operational level
Ensure to deliver consistent levels of punctuality and time management results
Keep abreast of overall industry and competitor trends
Submit various client and internal reports to drive complete transparency and update of current status with regard to service levels and productivity
Maintain required weekly call activity
Prepare and present client presentations through identification of value added solutions
Achieve and exceed individual targets
