Website Editor / Blog Editor and Community Liaison

Tasks require a strong attention to detail, multitasking and ability to work under tight deadlines.
You will be expected to compile an online content strategy for the website which may include writing new content, enhancing and optimisation of existing content, sourcing of new content and implementing content onto the website.
Required Skills
• Thorough understanding and interest in new technology (and a real passion for online, mobile, gaming…and the future of tech and how it impacts people’s lives)
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Experience in managing content and production for websites
• Qualifications in either English, Journalism, Technical Writing or related fields. We will consider candidates that show a keen understanding and interest in new technology – but they must have very good writing skills.
• Previous experience in sourcing suitable content – know their way around online environments and have an appetite for all things tech.
• Experience with social media (Blogs, Forums, Online Communities…)

Duties/Responsibilities
• Keep current with emerging web technologies and trends.
• Develop and implement the editorial calendar for the site.
• Plan and implement Web content.
• Make sure that web planning and execution are aligned with overall objectives of the project.
• Copyedit and proofread all web content.
• Work with Submarine staff to identify, create and file knowledge resources.
• Monitor and maintain online activity on a daily basis. Including engaging online with Mobloggers.
• Keep updated data backups/archives for future needs and reference.
• Pull together monthly activity reports on activity online.
• Maintain security by controlling user access.
• Keep track of expenses of the site to avoid overspending.
• Record site issues and bugs.
Marketing of and recruitment for the site
• Track users and user information - Loading new users, Removing users from list
• Taking new users around the site – ensuring that they understand how to use the site
• Interviewing and screening of new users
• Follow up on recommended friends.
Reward participation of Mobloggers on the site
• Award prizes for challenges and general participation
• Ensure that correct prizes are bought and delivered
• Keeping courier log of prizes delivered
• Continuous research of prizes that are of interest to Mobloggers
Be the contact person for the site
• Effectively handle issues that Mobloggers have on the site.
• Communicate with Mobloggers on a daily basis – ensuring that they are aware of any changes or alerts on the site.
• Daily ensure that the web site is operating efficiently.
• Monitor web site performance and make necessary adjustment suggestions to ensure maximum performance of the site.
• Ensure that Mobloggers suggestions are taken into consideration to ensure that the site is designed in a manner that is as accessible and user-friendly as possible.
• Notify relevant staff about online issues that should receive a response from Submarine.
• Ensuring ease of navigation for newcomers.
