Senior IT Support Technician

ENVIRONMENT:
We require a Technical Support Engineer to perform administrative duties related to installation and maintenance activities. We are looking for a hard working, committed individual that has a good general range of IT skills to visit, support clients on site, provide internal support and second level telephonic support

DUTIES:
1. Coordinate with Helpdesk and manage junior support technician.
2. Installation and maintenance of clinics and offices.
3. Be available to do standby duties on rotational basis.
4. Do after hours work when required.
5. Interacting with clinic employees.
6. Liaising with the helpdesk regarding faults received and cleared.
7. Operate and contribute as part of various teams as and when formed by initiating and / or actively participating in formal team meetings, discussions and actions.
8. Through continuous participation in product updates, product training and personal research, ensure that skills and knowledge stays up to date.
9. Travel at short notice when required.
10. Administrative duties related to installation and maintenance activities.
11. Project management for rollouts of new clinics.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. The ideal candidate must have a tertiary qualification in Computer related courses.
2. Certification in MCSE / A+ is essential.
3. 5 years experience.
4. Technical knowledge of data equipment and LAN/WAN networks will be an advantage.
5. Technical knowledge of databases and software application configuration will be an advantage.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
7. Excellent Troubleshooting of:
- WinXP.
- Network Issues.
- Internet Issues.
8. Optional skills:
- Linux.
- Active Directory / Windows 2003 Server / Exchange.
- Lotus Notes

ATTRIBUTES:
1. Working under pressure without supervision.
2. Strong customer orientation with a strong sense of urgency.
3. Must have good administration skills.
4. Software programming skills will be beneficial.
5. Reliable car & valid drivers license
